Manly Police Station- Sydney
Project surveyors were engaged by a facility management company to prepare an existing condition BIM model of a disused building in Sydney.
The model will be initially used for renovation design work by Architects, Structural Engineers, and Service Engineers. It will also be used by facility management in post renovation to document the buildings life cycle.
RENDERED REVIT MODEL
SCANNING & DATA PROCESSING
The building was scanned throughout using a Leica C10 Laser Scanner, and a Leica TS 15 was used to establish a survey control. Point Cloud data bases were established for external scans as well as scans for each level
It took 101 scans and 6 site day to fully scan the building. Leica Cyclone was used to clean and register the point clouds and also publish Truview images.
Revit 2014 was used to model Architecture elements, while the features of Revit MEP was used to create pipes, plant, ducts, and other services.
The MEP model shows a high level of detail and includes light switches, sockets, aerials, and even a satellite dish.
We are proud that this project won two awards.
2014 Leica Geosystems award at the 2014 HDS World wide users conference in the Building/Heritage category.
Winner in the category of Extra dimension & innovation at the NSW excellence in surveying & spatial information awards 2014.
